First Syriac Orthodox mission to Kerala 345 CE

I gave an interview on this subject to SubDn Daniel Dakish on 21 Jan 2026 – and here’s a link to it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/live/VK7pCya7Wbc?si=M1HwxyCeatcGHsLQ I have attached to this post two documents (2. a detailed unpublished article from me on this subject, 4. an article by Dr Caitlin Greene) referred to in the interview, as well as a link to my PhD thesis which has more details. But first of all I have added a document that is a response to some of the comments and questions raised by some listeners to the interview.

  1. This is my response to the comments and questions raised by David George and others after my talk/interview on 21 Jan 2026. I hope it clarifies the facts relating to the issues they raise.

2. Some notes from me on the first mesopotamian migration to Kerala in 345 CE

    3. Links to my PhD Thesis documents (2 volumes) on the SOAS website (School of Oriental and African Studies, London University): https://soas-repository.worktribe.com/js/pdfjs/web/viewer.html?file=https://soas-repository.worktribe.com/previewfile/384154/Knight_2019_2.pdf

    4. An excellent article by Dr Caitlin Greene, of the University of Cambridge, on an embassy sent by King Alfred of England in the 9th century to India, taking alms to the shrine of St Thomas there.
